Verner Panton (1926-1998) found designing fun. And it's as if he never saw the limitations of the material. His inspired, imaginative designs made him unique and put him among the very best designers of the "Danish golden age".

Verner Panton was popular in his day, but maybe even more so today, with many of his designs falling into the retro category.

When Verner Panton created New Wave in 1984, Holmegaard may not have been ready for his imaginative solutions, and Panton may have been ahead of his time. At any rate, New Wave ended up in Holmegaard's basement, where it was recently discovered and dusted off – and is now more up to date than ever. Base and shade merge into one other in an organic shape with an undulating surface that casts a breathtaking light and makes a sculptural contribution to the interior design.
