Maria Kariis (1971) graduated from Beckmans School of Design in 1998 and has furthermore studied at University College of Arts, Crafts and Design.

She lives in Vaxholm nearby Stockholm and in 1998 she founded her own design studio.

In 2006 she associated with Holmegaard Glassworks as designer.
